Inaugural Awareness Camp on Women’s Empowerment

Date: March 8, 2020
Location: Rural Community Hall, Uttarakhand

The first step in GRDO’s journey towards empowering women. This camp highlighted women’s rights, health education, and the formation of self-help groups (SHGs) to encourage financial independence and community participation.

Outcomes:

  • Over 100 women attended, gaining critical knowledge about health and rights.
  • Formation of 10 SHGs that continue to operate successfully.
  • Improved financial literacy among participants.

Horticulture Training Camp

Date: April 12 – April 14, 2022
Location: Village Agricultural Center, Uttar Pradesh

GRDO organized this training to help farmers explore sustainable horticulture practices. With an emphasis on medicinal and aromatic plants, this program empowered farmers to diversify their income sources.

Key Achievements:

  • Trained 120 farmers in modern horticulture techniques.
  • Introduced methods to improve yield and reduce costs.
  • Encouraged environmental sustainability through organic practices.

Youth Leadership Training Workshop

Date: July 15 – July 20, 2021
Location: GRDO Training Center, Ghaziabad

A week-long intensive workshop aimed at fostering leadership skills among youth. Participants learned teamwork, public speaking, and project management to take active roles in their communities.

Highlights:

  • 50 participants successfully completed the workshop.
  • Formation of youth-led initiatives such as community clean-up drives.
  • Empowered youth to participate in social reform activities.

Biogas Production Awareness Program

Date: December 10, 2022
Location: Rural Technology Center, Uttarakhand

This program introduced rural households to the benefits of biogas production. It focused on renewable energy solutions to enhance self-reliance while promoting environmental sustainability.

Results:

  • Over 200 attendees learned the basics of biogas production.
  • 15 households adopted biogas as a primary energy source.
  • Reduced reliance on conventional fuels in target communities.

Climate Change Awareness Drive

Date: June 5, 2023 (World Environment Day)
Location: Multiple Villages in Uttarakhand

A large-scale awareness campaign to educate communities about climate change. Activities included workshops, tree plantation drives, and energy conservation seminars.

Achievements:

  • Planted over 2,000 trees across 10 villages.
  • Distributed 500 solar lamps to low-income households.
  • Enhanced understanding of climate-friendly practices in rural areas.
